Creating a Big Market Splash

After their acquisition of the Kona Brewing Company, Anheuser-Busch sought to leave supermarket customers with a lasting-impression of their new Hawaiian-based beverage. To accomplish this, Outform created an 84-inch tall by 84-inch wide temporary display with design and branding elements visible from every angle. The execution insured that shoppers took notice of the display through its large size and vibrant colors.

Renowned Cross-Promotion

The biggest selling point of the Kona Big Wave Showcase was undoubtedly the tandem of Big Wave beer and another Aloha State-favorite, King’s Hawaiian bread. Together, the brands elevated each other and created a “multiplying” effect that was instantly felt upon a first look. Outform’s challenge was to make sure that there was a true sense of cross-promotion without a feeling of competition.

Innovative Layering and Visibility

The design and structure of this display was a massive breakthrough. On each side, multiple layers of corrugated materials were carefully placed to provide depth to what was the beautiful landscape of Hawaii. While the depiction of mountains and waves adorned the two product-stocked sides, detailed additions of Hawaii’s state flower, the Hibiscus flower, neatly decorated the smaller sides; this in itself was a challenge because of the difficulty of wrapping material around edges. In the end, this impressive display helped a food and beverage brand ride the wave to success.
